Dreamland (La Playa)

Here's the second installment of photos from our weekend escape to Miramar... How dreamy are these photos?!

Do you ever visit the beach during the winter?

Are you a beach or a mountain person? One of the reasons I love Miramar so much is that you get the best of many worlds...you get a little bit of city, a little bit of forest, some hills and, of course, the beach!

  1. I hardly visit the beach in the summer! So no, I definitely don't go in the winter. I should though. :]

    1. I'm not a fan of big crowds in general, so I love going to places "off-season" or going out to a restaurant before the dinner rush. While I'm not the biggest fan of the cold (although winters in Buenos Aires are nothing compared to the winters I grew up with in New Jersey), I much preferred having the beach to myself instead of having to share it with the masses in the summertime. You should put a winter visit to the beach on your bucket list!

  2. They're indeed dreamy, dear! The view is beautiful! Here in Salta we don't have beaches but it doesn't really bother me as I'm more of a mountain/cabain/snow person, haha. I can't deny this place looks beautiful, tho! And can I take a moment to point how happy your cute dogs look in the pictures? <333

    1. Isn't the pastel, muted color palette of these photos beautiful? If I had to choose, I'm not sure I'd be able to choose between the beach or the mountains. I just love nature in general (although, I'm not the camping type), and I've noticed that I appreciate it even more as I get older, especially living in a big city for the past 4 years.
The dogs were so happy there! I hope one day we can move somewhere where my dogs can enjoy the great outdoors!

  3. Awww stunning pics, Chrystin! Your dogs are just so precious - beautiful pups <3
Beach is definitely my happy place - any day, any time of the year. Something about it just makes everything better, takes all the worries away :)
Thanks so much for a follow on Bloglovin', just followed you back to keep up with your new posts. Stop by my blog sometime & leave a comment.
Just read you relocated to Argentina. I relocated for my hubby as well. How's your experience going, girlie?

    1. Thanks, Nadia! Part of the reason why we enjoy escaping from the city with the dogs so much is that we get to see how happy our dogs are when they can run free! I hope one day we can move to a place with more nature and less buildings!

I relocated to Argentina 4 years ago and the adjustment took me a while. You learn to get used to a new "normal". For better or for worse, I am grateful for the experience and have grown so much as a person, and I know that would have never happened if I had never moved to another country.
Looking forward to checking your blog out more and learning about your personal experience of relocating for love!

  4. Oh YOUR DOGS!!! I love little rottie faces and the littlest guy is cute too! I bet they loved a beach adventure! *Ahem* Anyway, it seems like everyone is going to the beach but me, including loveable dogs. I don't care what season it is, to me a shore is always a good idea. There is a river here with a kinda beach and big gorgeous trees. I am thinking about visiting in the fall when the air is crisp and the leaves are falling.

On a side note, what brand are your work boots? I am looking for something to kick winter's ass this year. I mean, I do have Bean boots, but at the time black was sold out so I had to get red. Love them, but I need something black too.

    1. Do you also love little Rottie faces with drooly chins? It looks like Agatha has a goatee in all of these photos, but no, that's just happy drool haha
The dogs had a blast and it makes me happy to see them enjoying life so much. We're already thinking about the next time we can escape back to the beach.

The boots are Dr. Martens which my parents got me for Christmas last year. They are a distressed black, which looks almost grey and they go with everything and are super comfortable! I love them, although they do give me a bit of a workout when I wear them because they are pretty heavy! I think the name of the style is called "Dharma".

    1. Thank you! We happened to arrive at the beach at just the right time---the lighting was absolutely beautiful!
And I'm not sure who loves that little blue sweater more, me or my dog haha
It was handmade by my Mom!

    1. Haha I'm not really a cold-weather person either, but the winters in Buenos Aires don't even hold a candle to the winters I used to experience in New Jersey, USA. Also, I really like to have the entire beach to myself, so I'll take it in the winter (not to say that I don't miss the beach in the summer...it's been years since I've been!)

  8. I've gone to the beach in the early spring when it's still cold, but never the winter. Where is Miramar by the way? Also, it looks like you had a great time.

  9. Since my family lives by the beach we go year round. While I prefer it in the summer, it's still so beautiful in the winter. Definitely peaceful and nice that it's so quiet. :)
