Eighties Revival

I tend to always get dressed with a theme in mind. Those of you who know me personally may already know this about me, and how I enjoy dressing how I feel that day, whether I'm going for a certain look or I just want to express my mood through my clothes. Well, on this day, I was really feeling the 80's vibe.

I've been a huge fan of crop tops ever since they appeared on the scene a few years back, but honestly, I've never felt comfortable bearing my midriff to the whole world (That's just me...maybe if I get a six-pack one day I may feel otherwise. But, until then, me wearing a crop top in public with regular waisted bottoms is not gonna happen!) Even knowing that I probably won't ever wear a crop top, I still buy them anyway. Don't judge me.

Anyway....I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am that high-waisted jeans are socially acceptable these days. I don't know why it took me so long to get a pair. I got this pair for my birthday and they are super comfortable, flattering, and they allow me to wear crop tops without exposing my stomach. Now, that makes me one happy chica!

ABS...Always Be Squintin'
I really need to start wearing my sunglasses.

The idea of this photo was to leap in the middle of the rainbow......
We did several takes, but I never did quite get it right.
This was my best attempt....I do think that my Converse gave me a little extra "air" though. ;-)

Wearing:
Top - Fujimoda (CABA, Rodriguez Peña al 1000, right off of Avenida Santa Fe)
Jeans - Dittos (lighter wash, here)
Belt - Vintage (from my Mom's closet)
Sneakers - Converse
Watch - Baby G (here)
Backpack - Dooney & Bourke (here)

What are your thoughts on crop tops? Love 'em? Hate 'em? Leave 'em? Hate to love 'em?
Love to hate 'em? I'm getting carried away...

    1. Doesn't it look like I planned my outfit to go with that graffiti? We just happened upon that wall of graffiti by chance, but the colors are amazing and totally go with the vibe of my outfit!

  5. I like crop tops too, but have the same feelings about them that you do (yet I also own several). All hail the high-waisted jeans!

    1. Thanks, Helena! It's not a print I'd usually go for, but you know sometimes you see something in a store and it just calls to you for some reason unknown to yourself? That's what happened here!

  7. I love this look! That print looks so fun on you, and it's wonderful with the graffiti behind you :) I'm actually a really big fan of crop tops but I like wearing them like you did with high rise pants so that it doesn't show too much skin :) Keep it classy!

    1. Thanks, Dolce!! Buenos Aires is covered in street art in graffiti, but I feel like we happened on the most 80's designs of them all on that day, which went perfectly went with my outfit! Couldn't ask for much more! Glad I'm not alone in the crop top/bearing too much skin dilemma! Crop tops and high waisted jeans are a match made in heaven! xx

  8. I haven't worn a crop top in years however after seeing how gorgeous Kerry Washington looked in one earlier this year (paired with a skirt) I was sold. I'm on the lookout for the right one! I also have yet to try a high waisted jean...that's next on my list! Your look great :)

  11. That rainbow pic is fabulous! I have a reaaaaally long torso (even regular length shirts are usually short on me). So crop tops are definitely out for me if I don't want to bare my waist (even if I paired it with high waisted jeans like you did - there'd still be plenty of skin showing). Tunic tops have been the best thing ever for me, haha! But I love this look on you!

    1. Thanks, Rach! That's funny that we have the complete opposite problem...I think my torso is what makes me so short (I'm 5'1" but have normal length legs, and pretty long arms for my height). Ironically though I still have to wear high waisted jeans with crops tops. Makes no sense, but such is life. Tunic tops are practically dresses on me haha

Hope you're currently having a blast in Vegas!
