Vegas, Baby! (Part One)

Over the holidays, my parents took our family on a little Vegas Vacation! It was my first time (as well as Tomas' first time) in Vegas, so we didn't really know what to expect....but we both ended up loving it even more than we thought we would! Lots of delicious food & amazing shopping, great entertainment (we went to see Jerry Seinfeld!) and there may have been a few 7am electronic roulette sessions thrown in there. Who knew I loved to gamble?! Don't worry, I also know when to stop ;-).
I'll be sharing my photos from the trip in three parts, and today I'm bringing you Part One! Look at those Vegas lights (above)----that was the view from our room!

I loved all the dazzling jewels that filled the casino at The Cosmopolitan.

Tomas did A LOT of hamburger "research" on our trip.

I went for the root beer float. It's been years since I've had one.

The view down the strip during the day.

Stay tuned for the next installment coming soon! xx

  1. Vegas is incredible! It's like completely out of this world and I think you really have to be in the right frame of mind to enjoy it. I did for sure! I went there after turning 21 so I got to have a lot of fun haha Great photos by the way. Looking forward to seeing the next instalment :) xx

    1. I agree, you do have to be in the right state of mind, especially when you are walking on the strip! We went with my family, so it wasn't any wild nights out (I'm too old for that anyway). I just loved eating at all the good restaurants, exploring the casinos and going shopping!

    1. How awesome is that building?! And with all the glass windows behind it, it looked even cooler!
I brought that coat with me because it was new and I wan't an excuse to wear it, even though I didn't think Vegas would be that cold....but as it turned out, it was pretty darn cold, and that coat saved me! It's so fluffy & comfy..probably one of my favorite coats that I own!
Thanks for your sweet comment! xx

  4. These pictures are amazing!!! I guess what happens in Vegas DIDN'T stay in Vegas in this case ;) I'd love to visit Las Vegas some day, it has so many iconic places <3 Oh, and what is "root beer float"? I'm intrigued!
Can't wait for the second part of your trip!

    1. Hahah yes, I am breaking the traditional Vegas motto with two more installments of photos to come! It's honestly a place that has something for everyone, a place that everyone can love!
A root beer float is root beer soda, which is like a sweet soda, with vanilla ice cream on top! It's a very retro North American dessert drink! I'm not really a soda drinker, but if you're going to drink it, root beer or birch beer (which is similar, actually I think it's even better) are the best ones to drink!

    1. We did! And he was hilarious! I found myself laughing out loud quite a bit (and normally I'm not an LOL-er haha). Honestly, I'm more of a Larry David fan (my husband and I have watched Curb Your Enthusiasm over and over and over again) than a Seinfeld fan, but I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed his stand-up routine :-D

    1. You need to go, Rach! It's so fun to explore all of the different hotels, and the food....omg, the food. We need to go back just to try out the restaurants we didn't have time to go to!

  10. I've never been in vegas but would certainly go, although it really seems pretty overwhelming to me!! Glad you enjoyed it and had fun :)
Gambling is not my thing, I tried it out and found it boring haha

    1. The Strip is full of people and can be a little overwhelming, but I think it's worth it just to see all of the cool hotels, try out some of the best restaurants, and of course the shopping is great, too! What's amazing is that the casino will be packed full of people, but you take the elevator up to your room, and you can be in complete peace & quiet.
I never liked gambling either...when I was younger I went to Atlantic City (The East Coast's version of Vegas haha) with my friends and maybe I played the slot machines once or twice. Never found it fun, but at the Bellagio Tomas found this electronic roulette game which was actually really fun. We would go down to the casino at seven in the morning when no one was there, have our coffee, and play our game. It was like our ritual for the three days we were there haha

  11. My husband wants to know about Tomas' hamburger research! Fill us in - what was the best burger of the trip?

    1. Well, Tomas only tried two from major chains while we were on vacation: Fatburger and In 'N Out. We actually went to the In 'N Out by my house in AZ, but there is one in Vegas. He recommends In 'N Out. Which is weird, because I thought he liked Fatburger more when we were there...Oh well, I guess he changed his mind haha
The burgers are very different at In 'N Out from Fatburger....at Fatburger you build your own, and at In 'N Out they only have two options (I think), very simple, but I tried a bite and I have to say it was really good. They're on the smaller side though, so you should definitely order two. I also believe they have a secret menu there, so I would research about that online, since they don't advertise that at the actual locations. We really wanted to go to Shake Shack in Vegas, but the day we were leaving was the day it was opening! That might also be something to check out!
